After Shakira, Miley Cyrus! It seems to be fashionable for the female singers to release a song about their exes!

In this song, Miley Cyrus refers to her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth! However, the tone is different from Shakira. Miley delivers us an ode to self love!

Basically, she tells us that she doesn’t need a man to love herself and that is a wonderful message!

I love the voice and the talent of Miley but… Does she really need to show off her body during all of the clip? Miley is already a star so, in my humble opinion, she doesn’t need to show off to sell her music! Ok, she has a perfect body (Jealous me? A little I confess) but…

Après Shakira, Miley Cyrus! Décidément, c’est la mode pour les chanteuses de faire une chanson sur leurs ex!

Dans cette chanson, Miley Cyrus s’en prend à son ex-mari Liam Hemsworth! Pourtant, le ton est différent par rapport à Shakira. Miley Cyrus nous livre une onde à l’amour de soi!

Je vous mets quelques extraits :

I can buy myself flowers (Je peux m’acheter moi-même des fleurs)

I can love me better than you can (Je peux m’aimer mieux que tu ne le peux)

En gros, elle nous dit qu’elle n’a pas besoin d’un homme pour s’aimer elle-même et c’est un beau message.

J’aime bien la voix et le talent de Miley Cyrus mais… Est-ce vraiment nécessaire de montrer autant son corps pendant tout le clip? Miley est déjà une star alors à mon avis, elle n’a pas besoin de s’exhiber! Ok, elle a un corps de rêve (Jalouse moi? Un peu, j’avoue) mais bon…

On va juste garder le message principal : on n’a pas besoin d’un ou d’une partenaire pour être bien!

Rolex or Casio?

I have spoken previously, the singer Shakira released a song dedicated to her ex Gerard Piqué and his new girlfriend Clara (who he cheated her with)!

She is not the first singer to reveal her broken heart in song (Hello Beyoncé) but now her song in on trend! We can find many punchlines in the song but two of them are now famous : « You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo » and « You traded a Rolex for a Casio« .

Beyond the message of an angry woman (I understand), she compares herself to a Rolex, in other words a luxury item. In France, a publicist called Jacques Séguéla said in 2009 : « si à 50 ans tu n’as pas de Rolex, tu as raté ta vie ». Translated in english « if at 50, you don’t have a Rolex, you have failed your life »… No comment!This sentence was extremely provocative! To have a Rolex is a synonym of luxury and success. I don’t even dare to look at the prices but clearly the majority of people (including me) will never be able to have one in their life.

That said, a Rolex it is… A watch! A luxury watch yes, but a watch ! So a Casio can be as well! That is the message of Gerard Piqué who got sponsored by… Casio rightly!

So, when Shakira compares herself to a Rolex, we can see it as pretension by comparing herself to a luxury watch or we can see it as awareness of her self-value despite the cheating!

So are you team Rolex or team Casio?

Rolex ou Casio?

J’en avais parlé précédemment, la chanteuse Shakira a sorti une chanson dédiée à son ex Gerard Piqué et à sa nouvelle compagne Clara (avec qui il l’a trompé)!

Ce n’est pas la première star à dévoiler ses déboires amoureux en chanson (Hello Beyoncé) mais elle fait un gros buzz! On retrouve plusieurs punchlines dans la chanson mais deux font particulièrement parler : « Tu as remplacé une Rolex par une Casio » et « tu as remplacé une Ferrari par une Twingo ».

Au- delà du message de colère d’une femme trompée en colère (ce qui se comprend), elle se compare à une Rolex autrement dit à un objet de grand luxe. « Si à 50 ans, tu n’as pas de Rolex, t’as raté ta vie », ça vous rappelle quelque chose? Cette phrase de Jacques Séguéla (un publicitaire) était extrêmement provocatrice! Avoir une Rolex est synonyme de luxe et de réussite! Je n’ose même pas regarder les prix mais clairement la majorité des gens (moi inclue) ne pourront jamais se payer une Rolex!

Ceci dit, une Rolex c’est… une montre! Une montre de luxe oui mais une montre quand même! Du coup, une Casio ça peut être bien aussi! C’est d’ailleurs le message de Gerard Piqué qui s’est fait sponsorisé par … Casio justement!

Du coup, quand Shakira se compare à une Rolex, on peut voir ça comme de la prétention en se comparant à un objet de luxe ou bien à la conscience de sa propre valeur malgré une tromperie!

Navalny or the slow death!

I have already spoken of Navalny (in French sorry), the most important critic of Poutine and the news is not good! Germany ask Russia for medical care « immediately » for the opponent because he has health problems.

As a reminder, Navalny was victim of poisoning attempt in 2020 and the jail where he is detained is sadly renowned for terrible terms! His lawyer denounces the lack of basic drugs and even the difficulty for him to have « a lot more » of hot water! Many doctors expressed « great concerns for life and health » of Navalny!

One more time, we need to acknowledge his extraordinary physical and mental resistance after everything he’s been through!

Navalny ou La mort a petit feu!

J’ai déjà parlé de Navalny, l’opposant le plus connu de Poutine, et les nouvelles ne sont toujours pas bonnes! L’Allemagne a demandé à la Russie une prise en charge « immédiate » de l’opposant car son état de santé s’est détérioré!

Pour rappel, Navalny a subi un empoisonnement en 2020 et la prison où il est emprisonné est tristement réputée pour ses conditions épouvantables! ll dénonce la manque d’accès à des médicaments de base et même la difficulté d’obtenir « un peu plus » d’eau chaude! De nombreux médecins ont lancés l’alerte pour sensibiliser le pouvoir russe sur la condition de Navalny!

Une fois de plus, il faut reconnaitre son extraordinaire résistance physique et mentale après tout ce qu’il a subi!

Prince Harry’s book came out in bookstores and we are entitled to revelations very important : No, I am joking!

According to the extracts in the press ( I don’t want to pay to read this book neither in English nor in French), Prince Harry does what he does « best » since Megxit : complaining again and again!

Yes, he lost his mother (princess Diana) at a very young age and that is sad but it is not a reason to set on fire the house (royal) he grew up!

Everything is said in the title « Spare »! In France, we said it is « le choix du roi » (literally King’s choice) when a couple have a girl and a boy! But we don’t have a King anymore! That said, the value of a person doesn’t depend on the order of arrival in a family! Harry shrinks himself to this fonction « spare » and that is a pity!
